A Sudbury textile designer is to stage her first exhibition in five years at the town’s Quay Theatre.

Sarah Sherry, who specialises in weaving and has set up her own textile company, is opening her exhibition Are we nearly there yet? at the theatre in Quay Lane at the beginning of next month.

The exhibition will feature a collection of embroideries, collages and paintings, at a venue Mrs Sherry has a long association with.

“When I first moved to Sudbury 20 years ago, I volunteered at the Quay, first helping out in the box office and front-of-house and eventually the bar and gallery,” said Mrs Sherry, who runs her business Ferris Designs from Talbot Road.

“It is a place close to my heart, as I have made a lot of good friends there, so I wanted to have my exhibition at the Quay as I know it is the perfect environment for my work.”

The exhibition gets under way at 7.30pm on November 1 and will run until January.
