BUDDING athletes from the Sudbury area are being encouraged to take part in this year’s Suffolk Youth Games.
Schools and leisure centres in Babergh have all been notified about the up coming games, which are open to children aged nine to 16, but anyone who is yet to apply is being urged to register their interest.
Simon King, Babergh’s community sports coach, said: “This is an incredible opportunity for youngsters, able and disabled, to take part in a sporting event that is staged a big scale.
“It gives the youngsters an exciting end goal and a chance to compete against other young people in the county.”
The games are being held on July 7 at the Abbeycroft Leisure Centre in Bury St Edmunds and will see children from across the county’s districts compete in teams in sports such as badminton, cycling, judo and squash.
