Outbreaks of the Bluetongue virus could blight farmers as the weather gets warmer.
The warning was made by Suffolk county councillor David Grutchfield at a Hadleigh Town Council meeting.

He said: "So far we have been fairly lucky in this area but it has affected others close to us.

"We must be prepared for the warmer weather, when outbreaks will probably re-occur. All records show that incidents of Bluetongue are getting worse not better."

Mr Grutchfield advised livestock farmers to get county council advice now.
