Construction students from West Suffolk College visited Ridgeons in Sudbury to get an idea of a large builders merchants' operation.
Lecturer Vic Kettle took three groups to look behind the scenes.

"We were allowed into areas where even the trade clients would not normally go," said Mr Kettle.

"The students got an idea of training and job opportunities at Ridgeons. We saw the bulk of building materials which they keep in stock and heard about the manufacturing and value-adding operations on site.

"Seeing the technical roles on site and the services that Ridgeons offer to the trade and other potential clients was a valuable illustration for students of points covered in their course."

He thanked site manager Darren Tobyn for helping with the visit.
