What we need is a bandstand

ON Sunday, Belle Vue Park hosted yet another musical event. It was only a few weeks ago that Justin Carter and staff from the town hall decided to join other towns celebrating the Olympic Bandstand Marathon theme, and the tremendous response from volunteers and numerous musicians culminated in an afternoon to remember, with Robbie Gladwell putting a finishing touch to the afternoon session.

Even a 13-year-old girl stepped out of the gathering to sing a song which added to the wonderful atmosphere.

People were singing to the music and calling for more, so let’s hope we can have another warm day, and a repeat performance in 2013!

Perhaps we could have a small bandstand in the park, as I seem to remember one there many years ago but I cannot find photographic evidence. Can you?
