The beers flow at pub festival

MORE than 3,000 people are thought to have attended a mini-music and beer festival at an Edwardstone pub.
Visitors to Eddyfest at the White Horse pub in Mill Green made their way through 5,500 pints of real ale and 1,000 pints of cider over the weekend.
The event, which was being run for the seventh year, featured music from a range of bands, including The Ghost Train Porters and Essex folk singers Mawkin, along with around 70 beers.
“It was an extraordinary weekend, which went amazingly well,” said John Norton, the pub’s owner.
“I’m always nervous and biting my fingernails before the festival begins, but we had hardly any rain and record numbers of people. It was flawless.”
Mr Norton added that the campsite next to the pub was fully booked and the pub sold out of beer at one point.
Fortunately, help was never far away and the pub was able to keep customers happy by topping up supplies from its own brewery.
“There was an extremely positive reaction from everyone,” added John. “The music was of a very high standard and the food went down a storm.”
