Small-minded

I AM another of the many disabled barred by our local council, unable to park and shop on the Market Hill on Thursdays and Saturdays.

How despicable, disgusting, selfish and small-minded this is, not only to the disabled but to the old people who don’t possess a blue badge. I have shopped on the Market Hill since 1946 and, like many more from Sudbury and the villages, would still like to park and do our shopping there.

I recently listened to a talk by local historian Barry Wall on “A thousand years of Sudbury market”. I can tell you by questioning other shoppers it won’t last much longer if the council keep mucking about with it. How stupid it was to try to introduce the loan of scooters outside the town hall and Gaol Lane. Where would we park in the first place?

Come on, John, our mayor. You are doing a good job, but along with your fellow councillors closing the hill to we disabled is not one of your best decisions.
