River trip to raise money

YOUNG men and women injured during conflict are set to benefit from a canoe trip along the River Stour.

Christian Aid is organising a boat trip from Sudbury to Bures on Wednesday in support of projects in the Middle East, which train and employ people who have been affected by war.

The event is being run in partnership with the River Stour Boating Company and anyone interested in taking part in the paddle is invited to come along and raise money for the cause.

The river trip will start at 10.30am and finish by mid-afternoon, with the European Union offering to quadruple the money raised.
