New role for councillor
SUDBURY Town Council has appointed a new representative to the Friends of St Peter group.
Peter Gray was nominated for the role, which involves coming up with ideas to attract more visitors to St Peter’s, during a town council meeting on Tuesday.
He will replace county, district and town councillor John Sayers, who recently stood down from the position.
“I don’t think any councillor should stay on for an indefinite period,” said Mr Sayers.
“I have contributed ideas but I think we should change the representation from time to time, otherwise committees get stale and bogged down.”
