Homemade cakes go down a treat

HOMEMADE cakes were in healthy supply as staff at Lavenham Tourist Information Centre held a day of charity fundraising.
Visitors to the centre in Lady Lane were greeted by a selection of cup cakes, carrot cake, Victoria sponge and flapjacks as well as a table-top sale on Tuesday.
The event was organised in aid of Multiple Sclerosis Society UK and the cakes, all made by those working at the centre, went down a treat.
“The day went very well and lots of people supported us,” said manager Veronica Cowlin.
“We chose this particular charity because we all know a few people with the condition and that made it relevant to us.
“It was a fun day and we raised £130.”
Mrs Cowlin added that as some items from the sale remained, they would be available to buy for the rest of the week.
