Fine smacks of inequality

HAVING recently read the Free Press article on the non issuing of parking fines to travellers in the Station Road car park, I feel moved to express my disgust at the dual standards promoted by our local council.

As a fully paid up member of society I completely accept my responsibilities and pay for any misdemeanours that I may commit.

My only crime is being sixty-something and a trifle forgetful. Consequentially the parking fine I received, and will pay, smacks of inequality when travellers commit similar misdemeanours and are not sanctioned.

In my view the council should review its sanity and respect its own rate payers’ feelings - I am.
