Attention all beer lovers

BEER and music lovers will be rejoicing this weekend as the annual Eddyfest event takes place in Edwardstone.

More than 70 real ale and ciders will be on offer at the festival, which is being held for the seventh year at the White Horse pub in Mill Green.

The event begins tomorrow evening and runs through until Bank Holiday Monday, with live music performed by 20 bands, including This Boy Wonders and Mawkin – a folk band who recently appeared on television with Jools Holland.

John Norton, the pub’s owner, said the festival’s free flowing beer and continuous music made it popular with visitors year after year.

“It is like a mini-pop festival which appeals to a wide spectrum of ages,” he said.

“You have a combination of a rural pub surrounded by nice countryside and lots of music. Whether you are a real ale buff or you like live music, it is the perfect combination and it should be an event to remember.”

Beer from the pub’s own brewery will be available, along with tipples from Nethergate Brewery in Pentlow and the exotically spiced “Kersey Thai” ale.

Camping at the festival is available but must be booked in advance.
