A toast to London 2012

THE end of the Olympic and Paralympic games will be marked with an afternoon of music in Sudbury this weekend.

The town council is staging a concert at Belle Vue Park on Sunday as part of the Bandstand Marathon – an event that will see hundreds of musical performances taking place across the country.

Sudbury mayor Jack Owen said the free concert was the perfect way to celebrate the culmination of the Games and also showcase some of the area’s best musical talent.

“The council is very pleased to be involved with the marathon and is always keen to promote musical events in the town,” he said.

“The event will be a memorable end to a fantastic year of cultural and sporting events and we are proud to play a part.”

The concert will run from 1pm to 5pm and feature performances from Robbie Gladwell, Phil Harrington and Paddy and the Rejects.
