£50m plans put on hold
AN application to build a £50million development, which would create hundreds of jobs, has been delayed.
Proposals for the ambitious project, drawn up by Sudbury distribution and packaging firm Prolog, had been expected to go before planners at Babergh District Council’s development committee on Wednesday.
However, it was disclosed earlier this week that the plans – which include building two office and industrial buildings on a 26,383 square metre site opposite Chilton Industrial Estate – would not be debated.
It is not the first time the development, which if given approval would provide jobs for 500 people, has been put off.
Last summer, Prolog was forced to delay submitting its application after receiving criticism from nearby residents about the design of the buildings.
A spokeswoman for Babergh District Council confirmed the application had been removed from the agenda.
“The plans have been taken off the agenda due to circumstances beyond our control,” she said.
